The final installment in James Herriot's heartwarming collection brings back familiar friends (including old favorites such as Tricki Woo) and introduces new ones, including Herriot's children Rosie and Jimmy, and the marvelously eccentric vet Calum Buchanan.

First of this series I've read.

Picked this gift up from a local little library when I had some unexpected time on my hands. I knew nothing of this book and it is a banger. From the bombastic first chapter until the teary final pages, a delight from front to back. Left me in one of those situations that I wish I could coax the author, dead or alive, back to write more. Time to visit the remainder of the series
